About Pet Treats Pet Care

Pet Treats is a family-owned pet sitting service in the DC metro area since 2004.

We provide personalized, loving care for your pets in our home for daycare and overnight boarding.

We understand how important it is for your pets to be at ease while you are away for the workday, week or any occasion.

Keeping your mind at rest knowing your pet is comfortable and being taken care of while out of the home. We will give your pets the attention they deserve while you are away.

Your dogs will receive 24 Hr. supervision and will never be left alone when boarded with us.

We require a "Meet & Greet" so you can see our home, where your pets will be staying, and so we can see if your pet is compatible for daycare or boarding.

Our company is licensed and insured. We are members of Pet Sitters International and we support the Montgomery County Humane Society.

Personal touches for your convenience that we offer when needed at no additional charge are:

Mail and newspapers picked up.

Lights and draperies adjusted for the in home look.

Daycare and Boarding.

I will walk your dog in common areas and pick up all “nature calls”. All pets will be leashed when being walked, as safety is our top priority. Walks last around 30 mins (if no inclement weather). I do not use off leash dog parks due to safety and health concerns.

SECURITY:

We ask that you provide us with a key to your home, along with any alarm codes needed. The keys will be returned to you at the end of our service unless you would like us to keep them in our safe for future visits. We guarantee that while in your home, your personal belongings will be safe from prying eyes, as we are there to pamper your pets only. We ring the doorbell so your pet knows we are entering and lock the door behind us when leaving. All advertisements will be removed from our vehicle before arriving at your residence to insure the “at home” look. Only rooms listed on your application will be entered (for watering plants and to check for “potty accidents” that we will clean and sanitize). We do not hire anyone, so for ease of mind.

If you choose boarding and need mail or newspapers picked up, I would be happy to do this every other day at no charge, if in our service area.

WHAT ARE YOUR NEEDS?

If you have a new kitten, puppy or geriatric pet, you may want a visit from us while you work to avoid accidents or any destructive behavior. We will spend a little extra time, if only one visit is necessary, for extra love and play time.

Boarding is always the best option as your pets will be supervised and cared for 24 hours a day, where your dogs sleep at home, will be the same when staying with us.

DAYCARE

Are you out of your home for work? working from home? We offer daycare for your dog so he/she will have a fun filled day playing with other friendly dogs in our pet friendly garden. They will get two walks during the day for exercise. We have comfy areas for nap time and will give them our own dog treats (baked with pumpkin, peanut butter and whole wheat flour), with your permission.

Drop off and pick up times vary to fit your needs and you are welcome to have an initial visit to our home to see where they will be during their stay.

DAILY VISITS

While you are on vacation, we take care of all your pet needs. We will discuss how many visits per day you require. On average, most dogs need a minimum of 2 visits per day. We prefer boarding for pets on medication, so we can keep a constant eye on them.

All drinking water will be changed at every visit if only walks are required. For cats, daily scooping/cleaning of litter boxes, fresh food and water changed.

BOARDING

When boarding with us, your pet will have the same luxuries they receive at home. Wherever they sleep at home, will be the same at our home. In the morning, the dogs use our pet friendly garden. After meals they will get a walk in our local park area (we do not use gated dog parks for security and health reasons). We will provide all meals (Grain Free), unless you prefer your own food to be used while boarding. During the day the dogs will be playing in the garden or in the house and supervised at all times, they are never left alone.

We will be available 24hrs a day while you are away for any questions or concerns regarding your pet. We will text or email updates with pictures periodically.

We provide a full report on what your pet did while you were away. If you would like to know, we can keep a “potty report” for any health reasons upon request.

Basic medications are given at no additional cost and logged on the report cards.

We do not offer overnight stays at your home.

POST SURGURY BOARDING

We will also board your dog post-surgery, given your vet does not offer overnight supervision but only if your vet feels this would be beneficial. We will give timed medication as required during the stay. I will pick up your pet from your vet and bring them home to you when you return.

After surgery, some dogs just need a watchful eye and/or medications during recovery period. We will be by your dogs side at all times. We do not allow the other boarded dogs to mingle during this time, to maintain a calm and peaceful environment. We will send updates to you via text, call and/or email, whichever your preference.

Post surgery boarding service will be an additional $25 per day

Long Term Boarding

We offer long term boarding at special rates.

Whatever the reason for long term boarding, our priority is loving care of all your pets. If you are not available, we will need a permission waiver to allow your vet of choice any medical care that could be needed. Call for more information.

Monthly or Quarterly billing is available.

Long term is 35 days+
